Who are they?
House of the Open Door is a lay ecumenical community, though most are Roman Catholic and have the status of Lay Association of Christ's Faithful within the Birmingham Archdiocese.
The Community began in 1978. In total there are around 45 members, with a growing number of babies!
Their aim is to be centred on prayer, and from this heart of prayer will flow whatever activity the Lord leads them into - work in prisons, schools, local churches.
The hub of the Community is at Childswickham House where a some of them live together running a Retreat Centre. |
